Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Protecting the health, safety and security of our employees and those who work on our behalf is a core value of MDI. We believe in zero harm workplaces, where all incidents are preventable. MDI therefore conducts our business in accordance with: Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Act, No. 181 of 1993.

  • We value human life above all else and we do not want to accept people being injured whilst working for us. We believe that one injury is one too many.

  • We are committed to the effective management of safety as guided by the OHSAS 18001 standard which;

    • Ensures that

      • OH&S management system is documented, implemented and maintained

      • OH&S management system is communicated to all persons working under the control of the organisation with the intent that they are made aware of their individual OH&S obligations

    • Enables the prevention of injury and ill health through the identification of risk and the management thereof

    • Provides the framework for setting, reviewing  and continual monitoring and improvement of OH&S performance

Environmental Policy

MDI is committed to leading the industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment. We aim to achieve this by integrating environmental principles into our business strategy.


The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:

  • Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to MDI

  • Minimise emissions through the selection and use of our fleet and the source of its power requirement.

  • Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.

Monitor and review all Quality Management Systems including this policy, on a regular basis, to ensure they remain current and appropriate to the nature and scale of our Quality requirements.
