History

MDI was established in 1975 to provide a specialised cleaning service to the Pulp and Paper industry, Chemical Industry, Petrochemical and all other specialised industries.



About Us

We see to the management of all site general and specialised cleaning, ensuring completion of work on time and within budget.


This involves:

  • Clarification of scope of work.
  • Identifying machine and people requirements.
  • Site establishment, execution of work,  mobilisation and de-mobilisation.
  • Identification and implementation of specialist cleaning solutions per process, which have now become accepted methodologies.
  • Boiler Cleaning technology.
  • Vessel cleaning without vessel entry, eliminating the need for scaffolding.

Integrated Management System (IMS) Policy

MDI Management and employees play a vital role in our SHEQR Management Plan. We are committed to providing our staff and clients with: A Sound Safety Management, Quality and Risk Management System.

 

MDI uses the ISO 45000 management guidelines to self regulate and manage our business. To this end, MDI operates a SHEQ system in accordance to the SE standards. MDI SHEQ system is audited regularly by our clients who wish to do so. In this way, MDI gives full commitment to Total Quality Management, Environmental Management and adherence to the OHS Act.

Protecting the health, safety and security of our employees and those who work on our behalf is a core value of MDI. We believe in zero harm workplaces, where all incidents are preventable. MDI therefore conducts our business in accordance with: Occupational Health and Safety Amendment Act, No. 181 of 1993.

 

  • We value human life above all else and we do not want to accept people being injured whilst working for us. We believe that one injury is one too many.
  • We are committed to the effective management of safety as guided by the OHSAS 18001 standard which;
    • Ensures that
      • OH&S management system is documented, implemented and maintained
      • OH&S management system is communicated to all persons working under the control of the organisation with the intent that they are made aware of their individual OH&S obligations
    • Enables the prevention of injury and ill health through the identification of risk and the management thereof
    • Provides the framework for setting, reviewing  and continual monitoring and improvement of OH&S performance

MDI is committed to leading the industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment. We aim to achieve this by integrating environmental principles into our business strategy.

  • Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to MDI
  • Minimise emissions through the selection and use of our fleet and the source of its power requirement.
  • Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers.
